History
The South China Sea Think Tank (SCSTT) is a policy research-oriented organization developed under the auspices of the Institute of International Relations (IIR) in Taipei, Taiwan. Founded in 2013, SCSTT brings together scholars, government and military officials, and postgraduate students from over a dozen countries to collaborate on research addressing the ongoing maritime territorial disputes in the South China Sea. Since its founding, SCSTT has attracted interest from influential institutions involved in South China Sea research around the world.
Mission
The South China Sea Think Tank aims to:
1. Serve as a platform for collaboration between diverse and committed institutions and individuals from the academic and policy circles around the world.
2. Provide accurate and unbiased South China Sea reference information, policy analysis, and recommendations.
3. Contribute to the dialogue on finding a resolution to the ongoing maritime territorial disputes.
